We have a slab!
Yesterday was concrete day. They start pumping concrete at 7:00 AM. Matt got there about 6:30 and I came behind him with the boys a few minutes before 7:00. The boys were so excited about watching the cement trucks and the pumper truck. Of course, missing school for an hour added to the excitement! Here are some pictures (it was a big day for us, so that means lots of pictures...):

The first bit of concrete going into the basement storage room's wall:
2 cement trucks backed up to the pumper truck's hopper. The boys thought it was so cool that there were 5 cement trucks lined up at one time...I didn't get a picture of all 5, though:
Special thanks goes out to Ed, the pumper truck driver. He let Jace control the arm of the pump...Jace was in heaven!
Here is a full shot of Jace driving the arm:
And then Ed let the boys get in the cab of the pumper truck...this is Jace's face after honking the horn. I'm sure our new neighbors were loving that:
Brett finally decided to play along:

Amost done with the concrete part:
Here's the pumper truck, all folded up and ready to go home. Kade, this one's for you:

The basement storage getting a floor:
We went back out there at about 6:00 PM last night to check on things. It was so misty yesterday that they were still out there on hands and knees smoothing it out. No worries about it drying too fast! They had just set up construction lights because it was getting dark. Hopefully all those guys got to go home to their families not too long after that. Today we will get to walk on it! Yay!
