Trim, cabinet doors and more granite pics (04-15-2009)

More pictures of granite...here's the boys bath with a sink...there's a duplicate counter on the other side of the bathroom so each one get's their own vanity.
Master bath with a sink...same here, duplicate vanity so we each have our own.
Kitchen with granite...unfortunately, we discovered that the island piece was cut too small (the overhang for the bar was not deep enough)...so our granite guy had to search all over town for another piece of the same color we did in the rest of the kitchen. He finally found a piece (a better looking one, too!) and it is in so all is well...but this is the old piece:
Here you can see the shallow overhang:

Cabinet stain, bats and windows (04-11-2009)

You're probably tired of pictures of my window seats, but I love them! This is the one in the breakfast area where the table will be pushed up to for bench seating. The tops lift open for more storage...and I love the stain color!
Notice the pieces of wood floor below the island cabinets...it really goes well!
My kitchen! No doors yet, but soon!
Linen in the master bath...I love our doors!
And a little bat that made his home on our back patio for a weekend...we haven't seen him back since...
Cleaning windows! Fun times! Ryan and Michelle stopped by to have lunch with us just in time to hold the ladder for Matt while I cleaned the inside...those windows are tall!

More trim and cabinet stain (04-09-2009)

OK, so our trim guys are awesome. Not only do they do a great job, but they are just fun to talk to! I've had a great time picking on them. Ryan and Monty came up with this idea to trim out the door and windows so that it looks like we bought a door with sidelights. Obviously, this is still the construction door, but it's going to look so great! He is going to add crown to the top still.
Here's a couple of doors trimmed out and the blue glowy white box in the middle is one of our 3 thermostats (I still don't know why we need 3...something about different zones or something). Anyway, I haven't seen it in person yet, but it looks like a computer to me! I'll have to be schooled on how to use it, I'm sure.
Some stained drawers and a window seat:
Lots of stained drawers that the cabinet stainers took upstairs to finish out of the way:
The window seat in the breakfast area:
We have a water heater! Matt asked the plumbers if we would get to keep a plumber when they installed it...he was sure that one of them would get stuck behind it and not be able to get out! We're not sure how they got it in there!
Our A/C is on now, but the rest of the house is not hot. They only turned on the electrical to the A/C for now...

New roof and trim (04-07-2009)

So remember that stuff that got spilled on the roof? We had it replaced...pretty sure we know who did it, but it was a bunch of finger pointing...boo...
See the trim around our cased windows? So cool!
More trim around the windows:
We set the tub in there so we could figure out where to put the faucet...Matt took a picture before they took it back out:
And some closet doors in the study and check out the fat baseboards...they're really cool too:

Trim and my car! (04-05-2009)

Sunday afternoon, we headed out to the house between conference sessions. The trim guys had gotten started and had some stuff out, but this picture is so you can see that I have a chandelier hanging! I'm not really sure why the electrician decided to hang this one, but he did and I'm kind of glad since I got it from Overstock and it was in about a million pieces and I didn't have to put it together!
And he also installed the ceiling fans upstairs, again, I'm not sure why...especially since they told us to hang on to the rest of them until the trim guys are done so they don't get dirty...I guess I'll be cleaning these right away!
The main reason we went out Sunday was to test out the turn radius on the driveway. Matt was having angst that I'm going to not have enough room to pull in front ways and then back out and turn and pull out front ways...I did have room, with plenty to spare! Here's my car sort of in the garage for the first time (there's a bunch of stuff in there so I couldn't pull in all the way):
